THE BASICS
WHAT IS TENNIS BALL CRICKET?
TBC — the full form in cricket is Tennis Ball Cricket — is cricket played with a hard tennis ball such as a Cosco or Tennex instead of a leather ball. Also called tennis cricket, it keeps every rule that matters: overs, wickets, boundaries and a scoreboard. What changes is the speed of entry. No pads, no helmet, no turf wicket needed — just a bat, a ball and a strip of ground.
Formats we run
Matches run 6 to 12 overs a side and finish inside 90 minutes. BTBCA organises Under-14, Under-17, Under-19, Senior and Invitation Cup state championships for both men and women, following Tennis Ball Cricket Federation of India playing conditions.
Tennis ball cricket rules in short
Squads of 8 to 11 players, one bouncer per over, wides judged tighter than leather-ball cricket, and a minimum 45 m straight boundary at state level. Umpiring and disciplinary standards are set by the association.
How to enter a tournament
Register your club or district team with BTBCA. Approved teams get a profile, player IDs and a place in the district trials that feed state squads and national selection.
